We've already talked to you about several examples of restomodding, from Porsche models to Mercedes-Benz, passing through Dodge, many brands have seen their old models be the target of this fashion. The latest example is this Range Rover Classic which the company E.C.D Automotive Design designates as Red Rover.

The main new feature of this restomod is under the bonnet. In place of the usual four-cylinder engines or the V8 from Buick that the Range Rover used, there is a 6.2 l V8 from Chevrolet (at least the V8 continued in the GM universe) associated with a six-speed automatic transmission, maintaining, in the However, the transfer box (or wasn't this an all terrain icon).

Although there is no official data in relation to the power debited by the V8, in a previous restomod made by ECD Automotive Design to another Range Rover Classic equipped with the same engine, this was for 340 hp and 519 Nm that allowed it to reach a maximum speed of 217 km/h. In comparison, the original 3.9 l V8 only produced around 184 hp and reached a top speed of 177 km/h.

This restomod was made not only from the engine.

In addition to the engine, E.C.D Automotive Design decided to change the suspension of the Range Rover, installing an air suspension with three modes: off-road, sport and comfort.

Inside, the company decided to bring the British jeep into the 21st century and installed a charging plate for the mobile phone, air conditioning front and rear, and a huge multimedia screen on top of the dashboard.

The brakes were also improved, using steel piping. On the outside, the Range Rover Classic kept its main aesthetic features, having only received 20” Kahn Mondial wheels, a paint job in Carmen Red Pearl color and new front optics.
