Officially unveiled in Geneva, the Jaguar I-Pace Concept has already hit the road for the first time.

It was in the famous Olympic Park in London that the prototype of the Jaguar I-Pace, the first 100% electric model of the British brand, was used for the first time. A model that will be unveiled at the end of 2017 in the production version and that will start to be sold in the second half of 2018.

The two electric motors, one on each axle, are capable of generating a total of 400 hp of power and 700 Nm of maximum torque on all four wheels. The electric units are powered by a set of 90 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which according to Jaguar allows a range of more than 500 km (NEDC cycle).

As for charging, it will be possible to recover 80% of the charge in just 90 minutes using a 50 kW charger.

Ian Callum, director of Jaguar's design department, guarantees that the feedback “has been fantastic”, and the development of the I-Pace has exceeded expectations:

“Driving a concept car on the streets was really important for the design team. It is very special to put the car outside, in the real world. We were able to see the true value of the I-PACE's profile and proportions when we see it on the road, compared to other cars. For me the future of the automobile has arrived.”
