Volvo V90 D4 Geartronic: the strength of a legacy

Anonim

Volvo continues its tradition in vans, the class it pioneered at European level, with the recent launch of the Volvo V90. Sharing the aesthetic language of the Volvo XC90, the V90 imposes a purity of lines that enhance an elongated silhouette (4936 mm long), reinforced by a narrow glazed surface and reduced height (1 475 mm). The Volvo V90's imperial pose also comes from the body's width (1 879 mm), accentuated by the large optics and front grille.

Thanks to the platform that it shares with the XC90, the Volvo V90 has an excellent mechanical base – with four-wheel multi-arm suspension that allows the adoption of different powertrains – and technological, with numerous driving support systems, not to mention habitability , which becomes a benchmark in your segment.

Space is really one of the strengths of this van, as in addition to the range for the shoulders and legs of its five occupants, it also has a luggage compartment with a capacity of 560 liters, expandable to 1526 liters with the folding of the rear seat.

The propeller of this D4 version is a 2 liter diesel block, developing, in this case, 190 hp and a torque of 400 Nm, constant between 1 750 and 2 500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission, reaching 225 km/h of top speed and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The consumption of this version of the Vovlo V90 D4 is around 4.5 l/100 km, with weighted CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.

Since 2015, Razão Automóvel has been part of the panel of judges for the Essilor Car of the Year/Crystal Wheel Trophy award.

The Volvo V90 D4 offers, in the Inscription version, for example, two-zone climate control, Keyless system, 12” digital instrument panel, upholstery in nappa leather, electric front seats with adjustable lumbar support, anti-dazzle interior and electrically folding exterior mirrors, LED headlamps, adaptive cruise control, rain and rear parking sensors, lane assistant, Bluetooth, High Performance audio system, traffic sign recognition system and 18” alloy wheels.

In addition to the Essilor Car of the Year/Crystal Steering Wheel Trophy, the Volvo V90 D4 Geartronic is also competing in the Van of the Year class, where it will face the KIA Optima Sportswagon 1.7 CRDi and the Renault Mégane Sport Tourer Energy dCi 130 GT Line.
