New Audi Q8 finally confirmed

After the rumors, confirmation arrives: Audi Q8 receives the green light to go into production.

The German brand sees in the Audi Q8 a weighty rival for the new Range Rover Sport and has already made it known that this Q8 will come based on the MLB platform, the same as the new Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7 and quite possibly the same that will serve as “support” for what will be Bentley's first SUV.

It was Wolfgang Durheimer, Head of Development and Research at Audi, who confirmed the rumors we launched in November 2012, and since where there's smoke there's fire, Audi officials thought it best to put an end to doubts once and for all. The Germans have been observing the constant growth of the Premium segment and claim that there is a market for something bigger than the Q7. – “Does it exist?”, is the question that arises… We want to believe that it does.

The new Audi Q8 will be accompanied by V6 and V8 gasoline and diesel engines. It is still very likely that a hybrid plug-in option will be released. Let's wait for Audi to release more information about this Q8, but in the meantime, drop by our Facebook page and stay up-to-date with the latest in the car world.
