AC Schnitzer takes BMW M3 Competition to close to 600 hp

The new BMW M3 Competition (G80) it is one of the most radical saloons of today and that is partly due to the 3.0 liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that it equips, which produces 510 hp of power. But because there are always those who want more, AC Schnitzer has just made this M3 even more “nervous”.

In addition to an increase in power, the well-known German preparer also worked on the suspension and added several aerodynamic details, all to make the M3 Competition an even more impressive “machine”.

But let's start with the “six in a row” engine, which saw its “numbers” evolve from 510 hp and 650 Nm to 590 hp and 750 Nm. older, the BMW M5 Competition. In addition, this becomes the most powerful BMW M3 ever from AC Schnitzer.

To accompany this increase in power, AC Schnitzer also gave this BMW M3 Competition a sports exhaust system with carbon fiber tips that promises an even more impressive “soundtrack”.

As for the suspension, the height to the ground can be reduced between 15 and 20 mm at the front. However, AC Schnitzer says it was careful not to create an “unnecessarily rigid” tuning.

Revised aerodynamics

Also in the aerodynamic chapter, AC Schnitzer claims to have gone further. The new front splitter (which can be installed without the need for painting) and which increases the downward load by up to 40 kg (at 200 km/h) contributes greatly to this.

Also noteworthy are the new aerodynamic elements in the hood, the new air deflectors behind the front wheel arches and the slight rear spoiler that extends the roofline. But the most eye-catching element is clearly the new carbon fiber rear wing, which promises an additional 70 kg of downforce.

To help keep weight under control, AC Schnitzer also proposes a set of 20” forged wheels that are available in two distinct finishes.

In the cabin, the changes come down to a new steering wheel made in Nappa and Alcantara that has new gear levers.
