Tesla recently confirmed the acquisition of the German engineering company Grohmann Engineering, and during the press conference, Elon Musk revealed the intention to build a factory for the production of lithium-ion batteries as well as electric vehicles.

“This is something we plan to seriously explore in various locations for the large-scale production of vehicles, batteries and powertrains. There is no doubt that in the long term we will have one – or maybe two or three – factories in Europe.”

The exact location of the next Gigafactory is expected to be known over the next year.
