Cold Start. In a minute, 90 years of Citroën vans

Anonim

The new Citroen Berlingo has just been introduced, an opportunity taken by the brand to make known all of its predecessors — the first, the C4 Fourgon or Van, was launched in 1928.

Perhaps the most iconic of the French brand's small vans was the 2CV Fourgonette or Mini-van, launched in 1951, derived from the iconic 2CV. Its successor, released in 1978, was called Acadiane, based on Diane. Best known among us, the C15, based on Visa, would appear in 1984 and would remain in production for 20 years, selling over 1.1 million units.

In 1996, we met the first generation of Berlingo, which ended up redefining the segment, presenting a unique profile, integrating cargo volume and cabin in one. The second generation appears in 2008 and this year, we know the latest chapter, in its third generation, of the successful model.

The importance of Portugal to this story should be mentioned, with the Mangualde unit having a preponderant role in the production of all these models, with the exception of the C4 Fourgon.
