The New Mazda CX-5 has just arrived on the domestic market. Five years have passed since the introduction of the first generation of a model that changed the face of Mazda.
The CX-5 was at the time responsible for the debut of the new design philosophy KODO – The Soul of Movement and for the debut of the new generation SKYACTIV engines. The results are the ones we all know: a continuous increase in sales and a complete range of models like never before seen in the brand's history.
Attention to detail
Despite being a mass production car, the brand ensures that the new Mazda CX-5 was designed with a strong focus on the human being and his sensibility. And it's not just talk of the marketing department… indeed, behind the wheel of this new SUV, you can see that every detail has been thought out to ensure passenger comfort.We have already conducted it in Barcelona (see here), and we had the opportunity to confirm all these sensations during the presentation of the model in Cascais.
The cabin is well soundproofed, well equipped and there is no lack of space in any sense. Positive note also for the quality of materials. Another highlight is the new Active Driving Display, which projects relevant information on the windshield.
Engines
Mechanically, the new Mazda CX-5 bets again, among us, on the turbodiesel block 2.2 SKYACTIV-D, with two levels of power, 150 and 175 hp. We have already tested the 150 hp version and were very pleased with the smoothness and responsiveness of the engine.
These mechanics benefit from 3 technologies – High Precision DE Boost Control, Natural Sound Smoother and Natural Sound Frequency Control – to increase responsiveness, improve internal engine balance and increase performance.
good dynamics
One of the great highlights of the new Mazda CX-5 is the G-Vectoring Control system, the first technology in Mazda's new SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS package. Developed according to Mazda's Jinba Ittai philosophy, it allows for greater harmony between man and machine, using ESP sensors, steering and the engine control unit to optimize the response of all controls and neutralize chassis reactions.
The New Mazda CX-5 in Portugal
The new Mazda CX-5 is already available in Portugal in a range with 3 levels of equipment: Essence, entry into the range in a single version, Evolve, intermediate with significant content, and Excellence, the "top of the range" version. Depending on the versions, one or more of the following content packs can be added: High Safety Pack, i-ACTIVSENSE Pack, Navi Pack, Leather Pack, Cruise Pack and TAE (electrically-mounted roof).
Depending on the level of equipment chosen and the associated packs, the price range is between €33,310 for the entry-level Mazda CX-5 2.2 SKYACTIV-D (150 hp) 2WD Essence, with solid paintwork, and €53,120 , of the top version Mazda CX-5 2.2 SKYACTIV-D (175 hp) AWD AT Excellence Pack Leather (Beije) TAE Cruise Pack Navi, with metallic paint.
