Here is the first official video of the new generation of the Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen has just given us a «sneak peek» of the new generation of the Polo, a model 100% new, but apparently without major surprises in terms of aesthetics.

Everything indicates that the official presentation of the new Volkswagen Polo will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which takes place next September. But given the pace at which news about the German small utility vehicle has arrived, we'll get to know it well before that.

This time, Volkswagen itself gave some clues – quite explicit – of how its new model will be, through a camouflaged prototype (as it had already done with the Volkswagen T-Roc):

NOT TO BE MISSED: Volkswagen introduces micro-hybrid system for the 1.5 TSI Evo. How it works?

This teaser only confirms what we already knew. The new generation of Polo uses the MQB platform, the same that hosts its older brother – Golf – and its distant cousin – SEAT Ibiza.

From the new Volkswagen Polo we can expect a model with more or less the same length, with the width and, above all, the wheelbase that will grow the most compared to the model that will cease to function. A difference that should naturally be reflected in the interior space and, who knows, in the behavior on the road.

If inside some elements may be transferred directly from the Golf (recently renovated) to the new Polo, in terms of engines the gasoline engines will gain expression, with emphasis on the 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI block. That said, we can only wait for more news from the Wolfsburg brand.
