It was one of the most anticipated video games of the year and it may well have revealed one of the secrets of one of the most anticipated hypercars in recent times. We are talking about the Forza Horizon 5 and the Mercedes-AMG One.
Much has been written about this “hyper-hybrid”. But problems motivated by the difficulty in taming an F1 engine for the road (emissions) have led to successive delays, causing the start of production to have been postponed until mid-2022.
But that didn't stop the One from appearing in the spotlight in Forza Horizon 5, allowing us to take a closer look at it, both in terms of the image and the level of mechanics, which this game may even have helped to unravel.
We knew that the One would use a V6 with 1.6 l imported from F1, which was associated with four electric motors. But AMG never got to specify the total power of the model, which in the Horizon 5 presents itself with 877 hp (889 hp) and 725 Nm.
However, this number contradicts initial predictions that the maximum combined power would be around 1000 hp, so it has to be taken “with a grain of salt”. Does this number only refer to the V6 engine? Only time will tell…
