Next Audi A7 Sportback arrives at the end of the year

At Audi's last annual conference in March, we learned the launch date for the fourth generation Audi A8 – 11 July. But the brand's top-of-the-range rings were not the only highlight of this event.

The second generation Audi A7 Sportback will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of the year. Looking at the launch program, it is likely that the German model will be present at the Los Angeles Motor Show at the beginning of December.

What will the new Audi A7 Sportback look like?

As with the new A8, the A7 Sportback should also follow in the footsteps of the Prologue Concept. Earlier this year, Audi design director Marc Lichte spoke out in relation to the design of the brand's top models, ensuring that the A7 Sportback will be the sportiest styling

As you can see in the image above, the next generations of the A8, A7 and A6 will have three variations of the traditional Audi Single Frame hexagonal grille, each with a different personality – remember that one of Audi's goals is precisely a greater distinction between your models.

“The A8 will be statutory and haughty, with large air roads and chrome accents. The A7 will have no chrome and will have a wider, lower grille, to accentuate the sporty spirit and clearly distinguish itself from the A8. The A6 will be a mixture of the two”.

On the flanks, the Audi A7 Sportback should adopt three well-defined horizontal lines, just like the Prologue Concept. At the rear, judging by the (camouflaged) test prototypes, the horizontal strip with LED lights on the Prologue Concept will not carry over to the production version of the A7 Sportback.
