The fourth generation of the stupendous Range Rover series was presented yesterday at a very special event held at The Royal Ballet School in Richmond, London.
The British brand of course – or it was not about the presentation – made known new details of its main SUV. The prices that will be charged in Portugal are part of these details, but not only that, we also learn that this Range Rover is now available for order and that by the end of 2013 a hybrid diesel variant with CO2 emissions from 169 will be launched g/km.
For John Edwards, Director of Land Rover, "The new Range Rover preserves the essential and unique character of the series – blending performance with luxury and unmatched off-road capability." The brand invested a modest sum of 466 million euros in this “mountain bugger” and in the sophistication of its factories to ensure greater and better productivity.
Available in over 170 markets across the globe, the new Range Rover features one gasoline engine and two diesel engines, all accompanied by an eight-speed automatic transmission. For the petrol version, a 5.0 liter V8 Supercharged block is reserved, ready to release 510 hp – “We like this”! For diesel will come a 3.0 TDV6 with 258 hp and a 4.4 SDV8 with 339 hp.
The structure of this “animal” was thought out in detail. Due to the all-aluminum unibody bodywork and other “small” details, the Range Rover 2013 is 420 kg lighter than its older brother, in other words, if you have the money to buy the 510 hp V8, get ready, because will be able to run from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds!
