6:43. Another record at the Nürburgring (with video)

Anonim

Another week, another record that I fell at the fabulous and fearsome Nürburgring Nordscheleife. We speak of a «cannon» time of 6 minutes and 43.2 seconds. A brand achieved by the ultra exclusive McLaren P1 LM in partnership with Lazante Motorsport.

In all, only five McLaren P1 LM units were produced – a more “hardcore” version of the regular P1. The twin-turbo V8 engine saw its displacement grow from the original 3.8 liters to 4.0 liters and the turbos saw their pressure increase. The result of these modifications translates into more than 1000 hp of combined power (combustion engine + electric motors). The total weight of the set in turn has been reduced by 60 kg.

Production car. Will be?

This record comes shortly after another model claimed the title "fastest production car on the Nürburgring". We are talking about the Nio EP9, a 100% electric model. As it is a model with an estimated production of only 16 units, there were those who raised their eyebrows in this regard. In fact, the same can be said about the McLaren P1 LM with only five units produced. Few units for a production model don't you think?

Although the McLaren P1 LM has turn signals, license plate and license to circulate on public roads, it is only at great cost that we can classify it as a «production model». In any case, somewhere in the world there are five millionaires who felt the need to travel in their daily lives with a hypercar with 1,000 hp. We cannot blame them. We feel the same need.
