Following the renewal of its product range, Volvo is already preparing the next step. After the good surprise that it was the Swedish manufacturer's smallest SUV – which we've already tested in Barcelona (see here) – the next novelty is called Volvo V40. A model that should be presented in 2019.

In addition to adopting the same stylistic language that the new XC40 got from the 40.1 and 40.2 prototypes, the new Volvo V40 promises to also debut hybrid and electric engines. At its base will be the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform, also shared with the XC40.

Trend that the manufacturer intends to extend to other models in the range.

Equally firm seems to be the strategy that aims for both the new V40 and the new XC40 to remain the entry-level models in the Volvo universe. Since, as also assured by the person responsible for the development of new models at the brand, Henrik Green, it is not in the builder's plans — at least, for the foreseeable future — to expand its line-up at the expense of proposals for lower segments.
