Hyundai i10 (2020) tested. Will it be one of the best city dwellers today?

At a time when many brands seem to "run away" from the A segment, the Korean brand bet heavily on the city dwellers segment with the new Hyundai i10.

Thus, keeping the small dimensions typical of an A-segment, the Hyundai i10 presents itself filled with a series of equipment that we are used to seeing more in the segment above, the B-segment.

Now, to find out what the South Korean city man is worth, Diogo Teixeira tested him in the Comfort version equipped with a three-cylinder gasoline engine, 1.0 MPi, 67 hp and a five-speed robotic manual gearbox.

small but spacious

Despite its reduced dimensions, the new Hyundai i10 does not disappoint in terms of living standards, something that Diogo did not fail to highlight throughout the video.

Even inside, despite the fact that hard materials are predominant — after all, we are talking about a city dweller — the quality does not disappoint.

The biggest highlight inside the Hyundai i10 turns out to be the infotainment system screen with 8.8” and, in Diogo's words, one of the best systems on the market.

Safety equipment on the rise

With excessively modest performance — almost 18s to reach 100 km/h, for example —, during this test the 1.0 MPi of 67 hp allowed to reach consumptions between 6 and 6.3 l/100 km.

But if the benefits are not convincing, the same cannot be said about the offer of safety equipment and driving assistance.

Therefore, the small i10 has equipment such as the lane maintenance system, autonomous emergency braking, front vehicle start warning and the maximum speed information system.

The price, although at first glance seems high, we have to mention that it translates into a high level of standard equipment, with very few options. The final price, however, can be reduced by a little more than 1000 euros, thanks to a funding campaign that is currently taking place.

Does all this make the new Hyundai i10 one of the best city dwellers today? Watch the video and find out Diogo's opinion.
