The cooperation agreement between the two brands will result in a version of the Aston Martin DB11 with a V8 engine, and is scheduled for presentation at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Introduced just over a year ago at the Geneva Motor Show, the Aston Martin DB11 is the most powerful model of the DB lineage ever, thanks to a powerful 5.2 liter twinturbo V12 block capable of developing 605 hp of power and 700 Nm of maximum torque .

In addition to the DB11 Volante, the «open-air» version of the sports car that hits the market in the spring of 2018, Aston Martin is getting ready to present – next month at the Shanghai Motor Show – the latest element of the DB11 family, the V8 variant.

The Aston Martin DB11 is the first model from the British brand to take advantage of synergies between Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG, a partnership that will also extend to engines. Everything indicates that the DB11 will receive the 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 from the German brand, used in the AMG GT, and which should debit around 530 hp of maximum power.

With the exception of the engine, everything else should remain the same as the DB11 we already know, and which we were able to test on the upturned roads of Serra de Sintra and Lagoa Azul. Although it is slightly lighter – due to the smaller engine – the V8 variant will deliver less than 3.9 seconds from the 0-100 km/h and 322 km/h top speed of the V12 version.
