New Nissan Note 2013 unveiled

Here's another Japanese novelty that will be presented to the world at the next Geneva Motor Show: Nissan Note 2013!

Nissan has just unveiled the second generation of the Nissan Note for the European market and despite being presented as a new SUV, for us it continues to be seen as a compact MPV. Less formal and more «sporty», the new Note is now prepared to rival other types of cars, starting exactly with the look.

Built on the same platform as the Renault Modus, the new Note remains faithful to its former dimensions, which is why we continue to see it as a compact MPV. However, we have to give a helping hand to the paddle and enhance its new exterior design designed to fully respond to the requirements of current European B-segment customers.

But more important than the new look is the amount of innovative features that are present in this new generation Note. A global debut in the B-segment is the new Nissan Security Shield, a package of technologies that was only available in some premium models of the Japanese brand. We can then count on the Blind Spot Warning system, Lane Change Warning and an advanced Moving Object Detection system.

These three systems make use of the rear view camera, which offers a clear image regardless of the weather conditions. The new Note also comes with the Nissan 360º Video Monitor that, through a “helicopter” image, facilitates (a lot) the most «boring» parking maneuvers.

With three different levels of equipment (Visia, Acenta and Tekna) the new Nissan Note comes as standard with the usual Start&Stop system, six airbags and cruise control. The engines will consist of two gasoline engines and one diesel:

Gasoline

– 1.2 80 hp and 110 Nm of torque – Average consumption of 4.7 l/100 km – CO2 emissions: 109 g/km;

– 1.2 DIG-S (turbo) 98 hp and 142 Nm of torque – Average consumption of 4.3 l/100 km – CO2 emissions: 95 g/km;

Diesel

– 1.5 (turbo) 90 hp – Average consumption of 3.6 l/100 km – CO2 emissions: 95 g/km. It has as an option an automatic gearbox with continuous variation CVT (Renault engine).

The new Nissan Note will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, which will take place in 15 days, later arriving on the national market in the middle of next autumn.
