The French brand has announced that it will present an even sportier version of the Clio in Geneva. Will it be the Renault Clio RS Gordini?

With the Geneva Motor Show closer and closer, brands are beginning to whet their customers' curiosity. Among them Renault, which without revealing any details announced the presentation of a sportier version of the Clio RS. Will it be the long-awaited Renault Clio RS Gordini? We don't know, but some rumors point in that direction.

Whatever the name of this new version, there are those who say that this new version of the Renault Clio RS will be able to deliver more 30hp and more 51Nm than the model that serves as its base, despite the power unit being the same: the well-known 1.6 turbo of four-cylinder engine that also powers the Nissan Juke Nismo.

In addition to the mechanical improvements, dynamic level improvements are expected. In particular through the reduction in total weight by 30kg, the chassis lowered by 10mm and new 18-inch wheels using composite material. Changes that should allow the eventually Renault Clio RS Gordini to reach a maximum speed of 250km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Remember that the current RS version reaches 230km/h and fulfills 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds.

Inside, a more “racing” environment is expected, with the adoption of lighter sports seats and carbon panels on the dashboard and doors. Outside, should this new version adopt the Gordini name, the traditional white stripes on a blue background are expected. More details about this new model coming soon.
