Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupé: the first German Evoque?

Anonim

A series of images of Volkswagen's new prototype, the Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupé, were released yesterday.

In addition to the images released, the German giant has also confirmed the presence of this five-door crossover at the next Shanghai Motor Show, taking place between the 20th and 29th of this month. CrossBlue is seen by many as the distant cousin of the Evoque, which makes sense given its shape and coupé style. Volkswagen doesn't lose one… If the Range Rover «boy» was a success, why not replicate the recipe? After all, this appears to be a risk-free bet.

Based on the famous MQB platform, the same as the new Volkswagen Golf, this prototype could be the kick-off for the next generation of the Tiguan or another crossover aimed at the compact model segment.

The Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupé will come equipped with a turbo V6 engine supported by two electric blocks, thus obtaining a total power of 415 horsepower. This should allow an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (now be amazed!!) in just 5.9 seconds. But the best thing is that, in addition to this excellent performance, we will have super attractive consumption: 3 l/100 km. The autonomy in 100% electric mode is 33 km.

If this CrossBlue has the "green light" to go into production, it will be quite likely that it will reach national markets as early as next year, 2014. However, let's wait for more news…
