It was in Stockholm, this Thursday, that Skoda presented the successor to the Yeti. In addition to all the news of the new SUV, presented during the event – and that you can get to know here -, there was a question that was inevitable. Will there be an RS version?

Without wanting to give official confirmation, Bernhard Maier, CEO of the Czech brand, left open the possibility of launching a more performing version of the Skoda Karoq:

"The feedback from our customer base was very clear, revealing that there is demand for an SUV with the RS logo."

According to Bernhard Maier, the final decision has not yet been taken. Remember that the Skoda Kodiaq has also been the target of rumors regarding a sportier version, but so far the closest thing to that has been the Sportline version, presented in Geneva.

Should it come to fruition, Skoda will be able to take advantage of the Volkswagen Group's own technology and equip the Karoq RS with the same 2.0 TSI block as the next SEAT Ateca Cupra.

In any case, the priority at Skoda headquarters will continue to develop new hybrid solutions, which have a launch date for production models scheduled for 2019.
