The third generation of the Skoda Superb represents a giant leap for the Czech brand that is also reflected in the minivan version of its executive model.

The new Skoda Superb Combi presents itself with a completely renewed design that gives it a more dynamic “look” and also greater aerodynamic efficiency. A higher degree of technological sophistication combined with a more competent dynamic performance they are business cards for the new generation of the Superb Combi that further reinforces its suit with its traditional trump card – space on board and luggage compartment capacity.

Using the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform and technology, the new Skoda Superb Combi has a longer wheelbase and greater lane width, which allows it not only to reinforce the generous levels of habitability, but also to offer greater stability on the road.

According to Skoda “The volume of the trunk is an expressive 660 liters, 27 liters more compared to the previous generation. With the rear seats folded down, that comes to a volume of an impressive 1,950 liters.”

The new Skoda Superb Combi is equipped with a complete range of driving assistance, comfort and infotainment systems, “as with the Superb Limousine, so is the new Skoda Superb Combi offers dynamic adaptive chassis (DCC) and thanks to the new engines already complying with the EU6 standard, this generation reduces consumption and emissions by up to 30 percent compared to the predecessor model.”

The range of engines is combined with six-speed manual gearboxes and automatic DSG as is the case with the version entered in the competition – which mounts the 190 hp 2.0 TDI block that allows the Skoda Superb to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and achieve an average consumption of 4.6 l/100 km.

It is precisely with this version that the new Superb Break also competes for the Van of the Year award, where it will face its smaller “brother” – the Skoda Fabia Break, as well as the Audi A4 Avant and the Hyundai i40 SW.

For this contest, the Superb Break also presents credentials in terms of security and connectivity equipment: “New means of connection reach a new level of quality. The Superb Break can be connected to a smartphone and several selected apps can be run from the infotainment system's screen. SmartLink includes MirrorLinkTM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.”

The price range for the new Skoda Superb Combi starts at 31,000 euros, while the version offered for competition at the Style equipment level with 2.0 TDI engine and DSG box costs 41,801 euros.
