From the most futuristic concepts to the more conventional production models, without forgetting, of course, the electric offensive, these were the main debuts at the Chinese event.
Audi e-tron Sportback Concept
Another chapter of the electric offensive of the «rings brand», which will give rise to a production model as early as 2018, the Audi e-tron electric SUV. As for this sporty e-tron Sportback Concept, its production version will only be launched the following year. Know more here.
BMW M4 CS
After the patents filed last year, BMW dispelled all doubts and introduced the limited edition M4 CS. The power upgrade to the twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine, now with 460 hp, allows lowering the four-second barrier in the traditional sprint to 100 km/h. Know more here.
Citroën C5 Aircross
The new Citroën SUV was finally presented at the Shanghai Motor Show, the French answer in the fastest growing segment in recent years. In aesthetic terms, the inspiring muse was the C-Aircross Concept introduced in 2015. The C5 Aircross also stands out for being Citroën's first plug-in hybrid. Know more here.
Jeep Yuntu
The aim was to mix the traditional Jeep lines with a more trendy and futuristic look, and the result is called Yuntu, “cloud” in Mandarin. And let the most skeptical be disappointed: the Yungu prototype is more than a simple design exercise. Jeep's biggest and newest SUV, with three rows of seats, should even reach production lines, but if it materializes it will be limited to the Chinese market.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class / A-Class Concept
It was with eyes set not only on the future but also on the present that Mercedes-Benz presented itself at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. , but also the A-Class Concept, which anticipates the stylistic features of the future A-Class range. Know more here and here.
Model K-EV
It's not Qoros' first experience with electric vehicles, but this time the China-based brand has teamed up with Koenigsegg. The Swedish brand enters the project as a technology partner and is responsible for developing the 100% electric powertrain of this «super saloon». Know more here.
Pininfarina K550/K750
Promised is due. After the H600 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Italian design house, in partnership with the Hybrid Kinetic Group, provided us with two more prototypes. This time, two SUVs, much more versatile and familiar, with the same aesthetic concept and electrical mechanics, with a micro turbine serving as a range extender.
