Volkswagen T-Cross. First official draft released

Anonim

Announced for the first time at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, still in the concept…cabriolet format, the Volkswagen T-Cross is anticipated in the release of its first official drawing. Image that also marks the start of the campaign that will culminate with the official presentation of the production version, as early as next autumn.

Based on the same MQB A0 platform, for example, as the SEAT Arona, the Volkswagen T-Cross will have a length of 4,107 mm, positioning itself below the “Portuguese” T-Roc.

Despite the contained dimensions, Volkswagen guarantees that the T-Cross will offer “surprising roominess” and “maximum flexibility”, with the occupants in the rear seats benefiting from increased knee space, thanks to a seat that can be adjusted in depth. And that can also be a guarantee of increased space in the trunk — whose capacity, however, nothing is known yet.

The German brand also promises that the Volkswagen T-Cross will be one of the safest proposals in the segment, thanks to the offer of standard equipment which will certainly include technologies such as Front Assist and Lane Assist.

Featuring exterior lines heavily inspired by Arteon and Touareg, especially at the front, which won't exactly be a novelty; and that the rear also seeks to replicate, namely, promoting a (luminous) connection between the optics, the T-Cross should opt for an interior very similar to the Polo.

The same should happen, moreover, with regard to engines, with the CUV giving preference, as the utility, to petrol blocks and, more specifically, to the 1.0 TSI three-cylinder and 1.5 TSI four-cylinder. the well-known 1.6 TDI.

Available only in front-wheel drive versions, as can be read in the official statement meanwhile released by the double V brand, the Volkswagen T-Cross has an official and world presentation scheduled for next fall. Apparently, outside the Paris Motor Show, an event in which Volkswagen announced that it will not participate.
