MITHOS: The electromagnetic vehicle created by a Portuguese designer [Video]

The Portuguese designer, Tiago Inácio, had a vision of the future and created one of the most spectacular concepts I've seen in recent times, Mithos!

This project has been working since 2006, when the Portuguese designer started making the first sketches just as an exercise in styling and personal evolution at a technical and artistic level. The Mithos Electromagnetic Vehicle (EV) is just (and unfortunately) another beautiful concept that will most likely stay on the shelf, although it is very well achieved in terms of aesthetics.

As a futuristic vehicle that it is, it is logical that there is no better person than Tiago Inácio himself to describe the Mithos… And how “the mountain does not go to Mohammed, it goes Mohammed to the mountain”! We went to talk to the creator of this fantastic project and let me tell you, this toy has 2011 hp and has a maximum speed of 665 km/h!!! Can you imagine sailing at this speed? I don't even want to think about the increase in the death rate on the roads...

“To develop Mithos' design, I had as reference some models, such as Tim Burton's Batmobile and other concepts that already existed at the time. From the creation of the first sketches to the final design, it took me approximately 6 months”, said Tiago Inácio, graduated in Design Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon.

However, in November 2011, he took up this project again, but this time with a different and more elaborate goal. “The basic idea was not just to create a visual concept, but to give free rein to the imagination and sell an idea, a vision of a possible future. For that, it was necessary to create everything that characterizes an automobile advertising campaign… even new technological concepts I invented (Quantum Boost Technology, H-Fiber, etc)”.

In this advertising package is a video that is something out of this world… The video uses a style and technologies inspired by sci-fi movies and took approximately 3 months to develop. Delight in this Portuguese gem:

The more attentive ones are now asking themselves, “where the hell are the doors?”, in fact the lines that delineate the doors are not visible to the human eye but that doesn't mean they don't exist… And you know that you don't even need to take the trouble to open the doors, Mithos opens them automatically as soon as it senses your presence. Everything has been thought out in detail...

Finally, Tiago Inácio said, “I never had any intention that Mithos would be built, if it happened naturally, I would be delighted. This project is essentially a piece of fiction, whose main objective is to solidify the idea that the path to the future inevitably involves electric vehicles, as I believe that within 10 years, half of the vehicles we will use daily will be electric”.
