Attention, attention, the cheapest diesel proposal for the BMW Series 1 has just arrived on the Portuguese market.
It is for this and other reasons that BMW gives so many headaches to the competition. Remember the duel we had last week between the new Series 1 and the new Class A? Well then, the Series 1, according to the opinion expressed by our readers, took a "beat" in all aspects, except for the engines. And this is one of the plans where BMW shows more of its "know how", mainly due to the amount of proposals it has available on the market.
The 114d is the newest addition to the extensive Series 1 range, and comes in 3- and 5-door versions, with a base price of €25,725 and €26,400, respectively. This 114d has a 1.6 liter turbodiesel engine, the same as the 116d EfficientDynamics, but with less 21 hp, or 95 hp of power.
According to the German brand, the 114d accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.2 seconds and is capable of reaching 185 km/h of top speed. But for modest performances, we have respectable consumption: average consumption of 4.1 liters per 100 km and 109 g/km of CO2 emissions.
Now that we've talked about the protagonist of this article, we must emphasize that the news for Series 1 does not stop there. In addition to the 114d, the three-door variants of the 118i, M135i xDrive, 120d and 120d xDrive versions will come, which until now were only available in the five-door bodywork.
