BMW invests 200 million euros in Brazil

Brazil is fast becoming the destination of choice for the big car brands, especially for those that are strongly committed to the premium segment.

One of these brands is BMW, which plans to invest 200 million euros in a factory in the state of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil, more precisely in Araquari. This investment will create more than 1,000 direct jobs and many more within the supplier network. The aim of the German brand is that this factory produces around 30 thousand vehicles per year.

The works are scheduled to start as early as next April, with completion scheduled for 2014. The BMW Group sold 15,214 vehicles in Brazil in 2011, representing a growth rate of 54% compared to the previous year. Just to give you an idea, with the construction of this factory, the BMW models should see their final value drop by around 40% compared to what is currently being practiced in the Brazilian market. Just good news for our “brothers”.
