Mazda RX-Vision shines at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este

The Mazda RX-Vision, the concept of the rotary engined sports car, was the star of the Italian event held on the shores of Lake Como.

After winning hearts at the 31st edition of the International Automobile Festival, in Paris – where it won the “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” award – the Japanese model once again shone, this time on the shores of Lake Como, at the Italian event Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

A model that was even applauded by the competition (Aston Martin, Bugatti and Pininfarina) and visitors who were visibly impressed by the KODO lines – which allowed it to win numerous distinctions over the past five years, attributed to its various studies and models of production – based on the new Mazda RX-Vision concept.

Kevin Rice, Mazda Europe Design Director, commented that:

Seeing your work appreciated by a group that includes some of the richest and most reputable car enthusiasts on the planet is a truly rare opportunity. And they were delighted!

The Mazda RX-Vision concept is yet another model that pays homage to Mazda's vast heritage of front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports models. The compact nature of the rotating mechanics makes it possible to adopt solutions such as its very low bonnet.

On the sidelines of the Geneva Motor Show, we had the opportunity to interview Ikuo Maeda, Mazda's Global Design Director. Worth reviewing!
