SEAT's worldwide sales entered 2018 with a sales record. In the first month of the year, the builder delivered 38 900 vehicles , an increase of 20.4% compared to the same period in 2017.

Contributing to this strong growth is the new model of the Spanish brand, the SEAT Arona, which began to be delivered in the last weeks of 2017, maintaining a high pace during the first month of 2018. Only the new crossover did the brand deliver 4600 units.

In addition, SEAT arrived in New Zealand, thus being present on five continents.

We started 2018 with an excellent result, the highest sales volume in our history, thus maintaining the positive trend of 2017. Ateca allowed us to grow very solidly over the past year and Arona will lead sales growth in 2018. Together with the Ibiza and with our best-selling model, the Leon, they are the pillars of the brand.

Wayne Griffiths, SEAT Vice President of Sales

In January, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom maintained the sales growth seen at the end of 2017, with the first leading with 8000 units sold (+20.3%), followed by Germany with 6500 units (+12%). In Austria, the brand was positioned for the first time as one of the three best-selling brands, with 1900 units sold.

The brand's international offensive advances in parallel with the expansion of the model range. After the launch of the Ateca, Leon, Ibiza and Arona in recent years, in 2018 SEAT will add a new SUV to the range with up to 7 seats.
