The next the "beast" of Stuttgart begins to take shape. Tobias Moers went over with some more details about the fastest and most powerful model ever from Mercedes-AMG.

Directly from Formula 1 to the roads. On the sidelines of the Geneva Motor Show, where the new Mercedes-AMG GT Concept was presented, the boss of the Stuttgart brand Tobias Moers unveiled some more details about the super sports car named Project One.

As expected, a large part of the mechanical basis comes from Formula 1. Hold on to your cell phone (or computer monitor) before reading this: Mercedes-AMG will bet on a 1.6 liter engine capable of reaching 11,000 rpm.

As for potency, Tobias Moers did not want to compromise with numbers. “I'm not saying it's going to be the fastest production car ever, nor am I looking to stretch to full speed. For now we don't want to put any numbers on the table”, he says.

Still, Moers has promised a record attempt at the Nürburgring as soon as the car is released. The presentation of the super sports car could take place later this year – in time for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Mercedes-AMG – at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2019 and each of the 275 copies produced will cost a modest sum of 2,275 million euros.
