THE Audi Q3 it has recently undergone a "facelift" (highlighted image) — as we could see at the last Paris Salon. But because the competition in the SUV's segment is unrelenting, according to AutoExpress, the rings brand's team of engineers is already working on the next generation of the German model.
The next generation Q3 is expected to be 60mm longer, 50mm wider and have a 50mm longer wheelbase. In practice, these new dimensions should translate into a more spacious interior and a more dynamic look. Underneath this increase in dimensions will be, as expected, the MQB platform. Despite the increase in dimensions, the total weight of the set is expected to decrease.
In terms of aesthetics, the Audi Q3 should follow in the footsteps of its older brother, which means a new front grille, a renewed luminous signature and a more modern cabin — the presence of the Virtual Cockpit system is a certainty.
Audi's first 100% electric SUV is only scheduled for mid-2019, but the Ingolstadt brand may take advantage of the Q3 renovation to take another important step in the democratization of electric mobility. According to rumors, Audi will use the technology used in the revamped Volkswagen e-Golf to develop a 100% electric Audi Q3.
The new generation of Audi Q3 is scheduled for launch in 2018.
