The start of production of what will be the biggest luxury coupé of the German manufacturer, the Mercedes S-Class Coupé, is about to start.
The Mercedes S-Class Coupé, whose prototype was unveiled to the public at the last Frankfurt Motor Show, should not look much different from the production version in aesthetic terms. According to Mercedes-Benz Design Director Jan Kaul, “the prototype is very close to the production version“. Mercedes' Design Director also claims that the prototype was completed two months before the Frankfurt Motor Show and that design work for the production version was already underway when the vehicle was unveiled.
According to some more reports by Jan Kaul, the future Mercedes S-Class Coupé will have a slightly larger front end and an even more expressive design than the prototype presented. As for the interior, there will also be differences, mainly in terms of the center console and the dashboard. The two 12.3-inch screens, featured in the new S-Class, will also be one of the main elements of the interior of the S-Class Coupé.
In terms of price, this S Coupé should have a higher base price than the previous CL, a model that will be replaced by this new generation. Its main rival will be the Bentley Continental GT. Two of the S Coupé versions for 2015 are also confirmed: S Coupé Cabriolet and S Coupé AMG.
