In recent months we've been unveiling some of the most brutal modifications to the A45 AMG's M133 block. Today we bring a preparation from Poseidon. So far, the most powerful ever on the A45 AMG.
Posaidon starts its offer for the A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG with 3 power kits, quite different from each other. The first offer starts at a modest €1500 and offers a reprogramming of the ECU that raises the power of the A45 AMG to 385 horsepower and 485Nm of maximum torque.
Stage 2 already surpasses the psychological barrier of four hundred horsepower, reaching 405hp and 490Nm of maximum torque for the M133 block. A very respectable value taken from a block of just 2,000cc and 4 cylinders, which uses the wonders of supercharging using a turbocharger.
On Stage 3 we entered the most visceral power level and also the record value so far achieved by a tuning house: 445 horsepower and 535Nm of maximum torque.
According to Posaidon, one of the tricks to obtain such power lies in the operation carried out in the reprogramming of the ECU, not based on a mere box chip, but on a complete root programming of the EPROM, contained in the ECU.
The electronic limiter is also unlocked and with stage 3 applied to the A45 AMG, according to measurements by Posaidon the A45 AMG passes 300km/h without any difficulties.
What is contradictory in this modification is that Posaidon itself, only advises its customers to choose Stage 1 power, with its «peaceful» 385hp. This is because it appears that most mechanical components of the A/CLA45 AMG are not prepared for torques above 500Nm.
Prices for the remaining power kits are not yet known. In fact, TÜV approval tests are still taking place, for the most powerful kits.
