Lancia Delta Integrale will also be "re-imagined"

In the ever-growing universe of restomodding, the Porsche 911 (964) re-imagined by Singer must be the best known today. But there are more cars that are candidates for restomodding. Automobili Amos, did not do the thing for less, and decided to “re-imagine” the Lancia Delta Integrale.

Supposedly, we should have seen live at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which took place on the last weekend of May, the first prototype of the “Re-imagined Deltona”, but the prototype was not finished in time, so, for now, we can only show virtual projections of what it will be like.

The donor cars will be Integrales 16v and not the later Evo1 or Evo2, whose values rise towards the stratosphere. All Lancia Delta Integrale — Evo1 and Evo2 included — were sold exclusively with five-door bodywork, but Automobili Amos proposes a three-door bodywork. It is perhaps the most striking difference to the original model.

The changes to the bodywork didn't stop there — the Integrale is now wider and more aggressive, with the new panels being handcrafted from aluminum. The front will be new, in carbon fiber, inspired by the Lancia Beta. The aerodynamic elements — spoiler and rear diffuser — will also be in carbon fiber. There are no images of the interior, but it won't be unscathed — the inspiration will come from the Delta S4, the group B monster, so a “focused” cockpit like that of a competition car is expected.

Keyword: oversteer

Mechanically and dynamically, nothing has been left to chance in this “new” Lancia Delta Integrale. It is expected to keep the 2.0 Turbo 16v from the original model, but the engine will be revised from top to bottom — numbers have not yet been advanced. Dynamically, the suspension receives new geometry as well as new components. According to Eugenio Amos, the owner of Automobili Amos, the objective is clear:

I want this car to be an oversteer instead of an understeer.

To understand the scale of the task, more than 1000 components will be changed and each car will take around three to four months to be built, with two units being produced simultaneously at a time. No more than 15 units will be produced.

"Make Lancia Great Again"

It is under this hashtag that Automobili Amos refers to the project — a reference to the phrase used by Donald Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign. , and that seems to have no possible return.

On June 1st, the FCA group presented its strategy for the 2018-2022 quadrennium, and focused on the four brands with the highest profitability potential — Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jeep and Ram. Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, and Lancia were left out, though all were mentioned in some side presentations and the question/answer session—all except Lancia. It's all said…
