Audi RS6 2013: The ideal sports car for "families" in a hurry

Presentation of the first official images of the Audi RS6 2013.

Among others, there are two aspects where Audi is the owner and lady of a lot of history and tradition. One of these aspects is that of sports vans, a concept invented by Audi in the 90s when it launched the mythical RS2 Avant, in technical partnership with Porsche. The other aspect is the 4-wheel drive system, a technical asset that gave the ring brand a direct entry into the history of the world rally.

When these two strands come together, the result could not be other than… impressive! We present you the first images of the Audi RS6 2013: the supercar that thinks it's a van.

Equipped with a powerful twin-turbo 4.o liter V8 engine that produces a “massive” 560hp of power and 700Nm of torque, the 2013 Audi RS6 is described by the brand as “a high-performance car designed for everyday use”. All this energy will be managed by an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox and a Quattro system, equipped with vectorial power distribution differentials that will together ensure that the power reaches its destination: the asphalt.

Given these numbers, the business card of this model could not be more inviting: 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h electronically limited, but which can reach 305 km/h if the customer purchase the Dynamic Plus Package, an option that removes the speed limiter.

If you think that all this performance will be reflected in fuel consumption, maybe you are right. But only partly, because the numbers, despite being high, are not as “dramatic” as they were in the RS6, which now ceases to function. This is clear, thanks to the presence of the cylinder on demand system and the start-stop system, which allow the Audi RS6 2013 to announce consumption of "only" 9.8 l/100km.

To "bring in" all the impetus generated by this engine, the 2013 Audi RS6 was equipped with high-performance brakes (optional carbon discs) and sporty and adaptive air suspensions or, optionally, even sportier suspensions, with different adjustable elements.

Outside and inside it is the panacea that can be seen in the photo, it seems that the brand of rings took this van to the gym. All of it exudes performance and speed. Sport seats or 20-inch wheels are a perfect example of this. Anyone lucky enough to come across this 2013 Audi RS6 on the street will soon find that they are looking at something very special, more than a conventional Audia A6 Avant.

Finally, it remains to be said that there are still no defined prices for Portugal and that the commercialization of the Audi RS6 2013 is aimed at the beginning of the summer of 2013. Until then, let's dream.
