Volvo XC40 promises a tidy interior

The unveiling of the Volvo XC40 is scheduled to take place in the fall. Don't expect to see him at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as Volvo will not be present at the German event. Until its final revelation, as usual, there is a list of teasers and today we bring you another one, which focuses on the interior of the future SUV.

If last month the brand highlighted the customization possibilities of the future model, today we'll know a little better how the interior of the XC40 was conceived, considering the way we used it, and how it affected its design.

As an example, the Volvo XC40 will not have speakers in the doors, which allowed them to gain enough space for them to accommodate two bottles of water at the same time and even a tablet or laptop.

A more organized interior helps, according to the brand, to keep the focus on what really matters, that is, driving, thus contributing to greater safety.

Cup holders should only be for cups

To combat the chaos of wires, papers, cards, keys or the mobile phone that take up any free space in the center console, Volvo promises spaces designated for that purpose. The brand intends that the coasters are no longer the preferred repository of all the paraphernalia of things that we have inside the car and are only used to place… glasses.

Thus, the Volvo XC40 will have specific compartments for cards, sunglasses or a mobile phone – charged by induction -, and even a space to place a box of tissues which, according to the brand's research, is one of the most common objects that can be found inside a car.

The glove box also now contains a retractable hook to secure suitcases or bags, instead of walking from one side to the other on the floor of the car. Under the seats there is also a compartment to store the most varied objects.

And where to put garbage, such as papers? Volvo has also thought about this and the XC40 will come with a small removable container.

The trunk will also have a folding divider that will allow you to better sort and hold anything you put in it. And it will have a lower compartment, where we can store objects that are hidden from the most curious eyes.
