Rolls-Royce appears younger in Geneva

Anonim

Rolls-Royce is changing. Luxurious and opulent as ever, she appeared in Geneva with a more “open” spirit.

The more mature audience is different. Less traditional and more… bold. Based on these premises, Rolls-Royce produced the Black Badge series, designed to please a mature audience but with a younger and “refined” spirit (the usual…). Allow us to joke: Chinese students in the US will like the news…

Both the Ghost and the Wraith models received black gloss finishes on almost all their components, and not even the glorious Spirit of Ectasy was left out. Black is the predominant color in the interiors and exteriors of luxury British cars – not even the air vents escaped.

But this edition is not just an aesthetic kit. The powerful 6.6 liter V12 engine of the Rolls-Royce Ghost has gained 40hp and 60Nm of torque, now delivering 604hp and 840Nm respectively. In addition to the performance gain, Ghost also received a new gearbox tweak that allows keeping the gears lower and, consequently, running at higher revs. The suspensions were also given a specific arrangement.

The Wraith, on the other hand, delivers 623hp through a V12 and, in this special edition, its maximum torque has grown to 869Nm (70Nm more than the normal version).
