A kind of Ferrari Enzo with two jet engines

"Insanity" was the name given to the project, which involves a Ferrari Enzo and two Rolls-Royce jet aircraft engines. The name fits him like a glove.

It all started with a dream. Ryan McQueen dreamed of one day owning a Ferrari Enzo powered by Rolls-Royce jet aircraft engines. No sooner said than done.

NOT TO BE MISSED: Ferrari Enzo abandoned in Dubai remains unowned

Despite having almost no mechanical experience or knowledge of welding, he set out to build a chassis capable of withstanding the forces generated by the two jet engines. Using fiber, he made a body similar to the Ferrari Enzo at the front, and at the rear he placed two Rolls-Royce engines purchased at auction. Twelve years later, 62,000 euros spent and his Chevrolet Corvette sold, McQueen managed to fulfill his dream – although they say that the dream commands life – and called it «Insanity». The name could not be better chosen.

The «Insanity» weighs 1723kg and theoretically manages to reach a maximum speed of 650km/h. As for consumption? 400 liters of fuel is enough to make this plane – sorry, this Ferrari Enzo! – walk for two minutes. This masterpiece of insanity is present at various events, but is not allowed to circulate on public roads. I wonder why?…
