Mercedes-Benz sales break records

Mercedes-Benz is a leader in the premium segment in Germany, Japan, Spain, Australia and also in Portugal.

This year Mercedes-Benz reached the total sales of 2014 in just 11 months – 1,693,494 units sold, 13.9% more than last year.

Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management at Daimler AG and responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales says:

“Last November was the best ever for the Brand. Our SUVs and compact models are among the most popular cars in the world. Therefore, we reached a new record in both segments, when we sold more than 50,000 units.”

In Europe, sales in the past month of November registered an increase of 10.5% as 67,500 units were delivered to customers. Since the beginning of the year, 726,606 units have been delivered to customers in this region, an increase of 10.8% and a new sales record.

The C-Class was equally important in Mercedes-Benz's sales strategy, having surpassed 400,000 units in just 11 months. Since January, 406,043 units of the best-selling Mercedes-Benz model have been delivered. Since the beginning of the year, the S-Class has maintained its sales leadership in the premium luxury segment.

Mercedes-Benz SUV’s also set a new sales record in November. Compared to last year, the month of November saw an increase of 26.4% to 52,155 units. Among the most sold models are the GLA and GLC, which allowed Mercedes-Benz to reach a new record with its SUV’s – 465,338 units delivered to its customers.

The new smart fortwo and smart forfour saw their sale increase in November to 10,840 units delivered worldwide. In just 11 months, more than 100,000 units were sold. This growth was registered essentially in Europe, where smart doubled its sales volume.
