Should the new Acura Integra have been born like this?

Expectations were never easy to manage or satisfy. Let Acura know that he managed to excite half the petrolhead world with the announcement of the return of the acclaimed and desired Integra, but that he ended up defrauding enthusiasts' expectations with the unveiling of the prototype (which is nothing more than a pre-production unit).

“Looks like a restyled Acura ILX (Acura access model, based on Honda Civic)” has been one of the most common criticisms and so the verdict seems to be that this new Acura Integra is not a true Integra.

The real Integra that is talked about is, of course, the DC2 generation or, at best, the DC5 successor generation which, oddly enough, became known as the Acura RSX in the US and Honda Integra in the rest of the world.

Opinion shared, too, by Marouane Bembli, designer and the face behind The Sketch Monkey channel, who wasted no time “straightening out” the new Acura Integra.

There are several questions that Bembli raises in relation to the new Acura Integra, because, as you say, if it is to bring these legendary names from the past that do not use them in models that have little or nothing to do with them.

Bembli thus rushes to give the Integra a new silhouette and transform it into a true coupé. For this, it eliminates the rear doors and alters the roof line, making it finish earlier, creating a more prominent third volume, as in the Integra DC2.

And, of course, he finished off the back of his Acura Integra with a wing, which is part of the imagery around the Integra.
