Mazda updated the CX-3 in technology, content and dynamics. Prices for the renewed CX-3 start at 23,693 euros.
The CX-3 has been a success story for Mazda in Portugal. In 2016, the model represented 48.5% of the brand's total sales in our country. For 2017, Mazda reinforced the crossover arguments in terms of dynamics, technology and content.
Starting with the dynamics, it's time for the CX-3 to receive the G-Vectoring Control (GVC). Introduced last year, this technology optimizes the approach to corners, permanently adjusting engine torque as a function of steering movement. The result is an increased vertical load on the front axle entering corners, enhancing traction, agility, and promoting stability during and exiting corners, increasing the load on the rear axle.
The shock absorbers, rear axle torsion bar bushings have been revised, and the electric assistance steering has been optimized in its response. The aim was to increase stability and improve cornering response.

Mazda took advantage of this update to the CX-3 to also improve the level of comfort on board, especially in terms of acoustics. Aerodynamic noise has been reduced by using larger covers in the door holes and filling spaces in the front doors. In the rear gate the glass has seen its thickness increase from 2.8 to 3.1 mm, and contains more sound-absorbing material.
The revised CX-3 will continue to be available in Portugal only with the SKYACTIV-D 1.5 with 105 hp and 270 Nm between 1600 and 2500 rpm. This engine has also undergone some technical improvements to suppress unwanted noise and vibration. The propeller can still be combined with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, and we can also choose between two or four-wheel drive.
The interior has a new steering wheel, with a smaller cushion and new horizontal controls.
The Evolve and Excellence equipment levels are maintained, but the Mazda CX-3 gains a new version called Special Edition. Exclusively associated with the 2WD variant and manual gearbox, it is based on the Excellence level and adds the HT Pack (BSM – blind spot monitoring system, HBC – automatic high beam control, AFSL – adaptive headlamps, MRCC – cruise control with radar), Leather Brown leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels in Bright Silver, electrically adjustable driver's seat, memory and ADD – Active Driving Display.
In the field of security the CX-3 sees the i-ACTIVSENSE (Active Security Technologies suite) being strengthened. Starts to use radar and cameras to detect obstacles and prevent collisions, including pedestrians. If necessary, the brakes can be applied automatically.
CX-3 revised prices start in 23,693 euros (does not include legalization fees) for Mazda CX-3 2WD 1.5 SKYACTIV-D (105 hp) Evolve and amount to 34,612 euros of Mazda CX-3 AWD 1.5 SKYACTIV-D (105 hp) AT Excellence HT Leather White Navi with Metallic Paint.
