The German brand explains — video has English subtitles —, in an easily understandable way the operation of its double-clutch gearbox, which, it should be noted, and contrary to what you might think, does not work like an automatic gearbox.
In this video of just over three minutes, the Bavarian brand not only teaches you that, to leave the car immobilized and safe, you just have to turn off the engine with the gearbox engaged, that is, in D mode, automatically activating Park mode ; as it explains the advantages of Low Speed Assistant. A feature that, due to the fact that this transmission is based on the mode of operation of a manual gearbox — it doesn't have a torque converter —, makes the car only start to move, from the moment you press the first touch on the gas pedal. Since then, you don't even have to keep your foot on the accelerator, so that the car maintains a constant speed between 4 and 5 km/h!
Defending that its DCT "combines the best of both worlds", "automatic switching and manual switching", BMW also discusses, in this video, what the three-strip button next to the lever is used to activate the Drive Logic.

What is Drive Logic? Simple: it's the feature that adapts the speed of the gearbox changes to the driver's taste. With only one risk selected (the image appears in the center of the instrument panel, between the speedometer and the rev counter), the transmission works in a more relaxed manner and favoring comfort, while the three risks are activated with three touches of the button, the housing adopts the sportier operating mode, with faster changes.
