New exterior design, more equipment and a new 1.0 TSI engine. Know the details of this update to Skoda Rapid and Rapid Spaceback.
Skoda has just unveiled the first images of the new Skoda Rapid and Rapid Spaceback, a pair of “compact and spacious” models that are positioned between the Fabia and Octavia ranges in the Czech brand's portfolio.
From the outside, the new look is particularly evident in the front section. After a somewhat controversial facelift on the Octavia, Skoda preferred to follow a different path and opted for a more conventional grille-optical groups (bi-xenon with LED position lights). Farther down, the narrow chrome strip (available as standard from the Style level) links the redesigned fog lamps. At the rear, the Skoda Rapid incorporates C-shaped tail lights.
The novelties also extend to the rims (15 to 17 inches), which are now available with new designs.

As is its hallmark, inside Skoda continues to focus on space: 415 liters of luggage capacity for the Rapid and 550 liters for the Rapid Spaceback. In addition, this update adds a set of aesthetic and technological modifications.
New interior handles were added to the four doors, the instrument panel was updated and the air vents in the dashboard and in the control panel of the manual air conditioning system were also redesigned.
The new Skoda Connect services (Infotainment Online and Care Connect) are also making their debut on Rapid and Rapid Spaceback. It is now possible to access the traffic flow on the selected route in real time and, in case of congestion, the system suggests an alternative route. Other information available consists of fuel stations (with prices), car parks, news or weather.
Another of the big news in this update is the entry of the new tricylindrical block 1.0 liter TSI for the range of engines, available for both models with two power levels: 95 hp and 110 hp. This engine thus joins the others 1.4 TSI 125 hp, 1.4 TDI of 90 hp and 1.6 TDI of 116 hp.
