European manufacturers protest, complain and protest again, but the truth is that little more can be done – Chinese car manufacturers have no problem copying models from other latitudes! The most recent case is the Land Rover Discovery 4, which, without the British brand having participated in anything, has just won a “twin brother”, Chinese – the Changan X70A.
According to Autocar, the Changan X70A is an SUV of generous dimensions, produced by a manufacturer based in Southeast China. And whose lines do not hide the similarities with the previous generation of the Land Rover Discovery, meanwhile replaced.

While not yet on the market, as it is scheduled to unveil at the upcoming Guangzhou Motor Show, whose doors open this Friday, the Changan X70A bears a clear resemblance to the Discovery 4. In particular, when viewed in profile.
For the rest, the Chinese model, with slightly smaller exterior dimensions than the Discovery, differs from its British “brother” also in terms of positioning and engines. With the Changan X70A being, unlike the Land Rover, a proposal exclusively for front wheel drive, and with a small 1.5 gasoline engine, which guarantees no more than 97 hp of power and 140 Nm of torque. Transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
Finally, just mention that the Changan X70A will be sold only in China, with a price of just 80,000 yuan, in other words, just over 10,000 euros.
