Next Porsche Panamera Turbo will be as fast as the Carrera GT

This is said by Gernot Döllner himself, responsible for the development of the new Panamera. The second generation of the model is already in the testing phase and will be presented later this year.

The second generation Porsche Panamera promises! After a first generation that was very well achieved in mechanical terms but in aesthetic terms it left something to be desired. According to Porsche, the second generation of the model promises to reinforce the strengths and fill in the weaknesses pointed out to the model.

It will benefit from the new MSB (Modularen Standardbaukasten) platform, and although there is still no official confirmation of the brand, according to the models being tested, on an aesthetic level the new Panamera will feature improved proportions and new LED headlights. Despite the sportier lines, the next generation should not give up space inside, and there could even be an increase in the volume of the luggage compartment.

As for the mechanics, the new Porsche Panamera will be offered exclusively with an all-wheel drive system, but the big news is even the latest bi-turbo V8 engine presented at the latest edition of the Vienna Automotive Engineering Symposium.

According to the brand, efforts to improve efficiency will not harm the performance of these new engines. Gernot Döllner guaranteed that the Turbo version will be as fast as the Porsche Carrera GT on the Nürburgring – remember that this model took just 7m28s to complete the German circuit. The new Porsche Panamera is expected to arrive on the market next year.
