New Renault Mégane RS already has a presentation date

Mark your calendar: “on the 28th of May, visit Razão Automóvel”. Why? Because Renault will present the new Mégane RS during the Monaco GP. The French brand decided to take advantage of one of the most emblematic Grand Prix events on the calendar to make its ultimate sport known to the world.

In technical terms, almost everything remains to be confirmed. We don't know if Renault Sport has decided to update the 2.0 liter engine of the old model or if it will resort to a more powerful version of the 1.8 Turbo block debuted in the Alpine A110. In any case, it is expected a power above 290 hp – less than that could be disappointing in the face of direct competition. As for the box, the scenario is the same: there is no confirmation. Will it be manual or dual-clutch automatic? We don't know either.

Talking about the Renault Mégane RS – whatever the generation – is talking about a sharp chassis, an excellent suspension and an outstanding driving feel.

That said, compared to the normal model, the Mégane RS will have specific suspensions and a chassis designed for the most demanding drivers. There is talk of the possibility of the Mégane RS using the same 4-Control steered wheel system as the GT version, but there is still no confirmation.

One thing is right. The Renault Motorsport guys usually know what they're doing… now it's time to wait for the next Sunday, May 28th, to draw the first conclusions. Until then, we will remember one of the many contacts we had with the previous generation.

Birds in love and flowers covered with dew on a less hot night were the messengers of a day that promised to be pleasant. In the background, the wind could be heard slipping through the trees, shaking off the morning laziness. Everything was beautiful, everything was so virgin and perfect until… "vruuuum, tse-páááá!"
