Honda recently unveiled the first official images of the new generation Civic and based on that, some have already imagined what the future Honda Civic Type R will look like.
The sketches we bring you here are by designer Kleber Silva and already allow us to anticipate what the lines of the most powerful and radical Honda Civic of the new generation could be.
It is true that this is a purely speculative work, but it is important to say that it was made based on the official images of the five-door Civic and that Kleber Silva included the most characteristic elements of the current Civic Type R, such as the rear wing and the three outputs of exhaust in central position.
Also the bumpers, diffusers and side skirts were “stolen” from the current Civic Type R and “matched” with the image of the new generation Civic, which boasts a completely new luminous signature and a black-backed front grille with a hexagonal pattern.
And the engine?
The watchword within Honda seems to be just one: electrify. And this will be very noticeable in the new Civic, which in Europe will only be available with hybrid engines, as had already happened with the Jazz and the HR-V.
However, the next generation Civic Type R will be the exception to the rule and will remain faithful, just and only, to combustion.
We can therefore expect a block of four-cylinder turbo in-line with a 2.0 l capacity, with power even surpassing the 320 hp of the current model, which will continue to be shipped exclusively for the two front wheels.
