As is customary in the world of classics, rallies take place both in summer and winter and not even the most extreme conditions prevent the classics from shining. Today we bring you the summary of the Winter Marathon Rally, in its 26th edition.
The Winter Marathon Rally takes place every year between the 24th and 27th of January in the Italian Alps, starting and ending in the small town Madonna di Campiglio, which is very popular as a ski resort.
This year the Winter Marathon Rally received 130 teams, who wanted to submit their classics to this test of reliability, with the combination of cold weather, snow and many curves. In short, the ideal cocktail for a good rally.
As with all historical rally events, the presence of the greatest number of classics is what makes the experience unforgettable, whether for the adventure or simply the camaraderie of classics aficionados.
In all, 230 cars entered this rally, representing 24 brands, in a race with a track of 426km. The winter marathon rally features 44 time trial segments, 4 timed checkpoints and 1 control checkpoint. The test takes place on completely open public roads and at an average speed not exceeding 40.447 km/h.
The most represented brands are: Porsche, with 38 cars, followed by Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and this year for the first time, a BMW 507 that gave the air of its grace, adding a touch of extra elegance to the Winter Marathon Rally 2014.
The list of official results is made up of 4 categories where cars from different eras compete, all of which compete overall.

1st Giuliano Cane and Lucia Galliani, with the 1938 Lancia Aprilia
2nd Ezio and Francesca Salviato, with the 1939 Lancia Aprilia
3rd Antonino Margiotta and Bruno Perno, with the Morris Mini Cooper S from 1965
In the APT trophy we have:
1st Belometti / Cadei Team, with the 1967 Innocenti Mini Cooper Mk I
2nd Gatta / Maffina Team, with the Porsche 356 A Coupe from 1959
In the classic category, pre-World War II, we have:
1st Spagnoli / Spagnoli Team, with the 1932 Fiat 508 S
2nd Sandrolini Cortesi / Ferrari Team, with the 1937 Citroen 11 BL Roadster
And finally in the TAG Heuer trophy we have:
1st Barcella / Ghidotti Team, with the 1963 Porsche 356 C Coupé
2nd Team 2. Spagnoli / Parisi, with the 1932 Fiat 508 S
