One of the 11 copies of the Aston Martin DB3S will be available for auction on May 21st.

The history of this iconic British model dates back to the early 1950s, in a post-World War II phase when Aston Martin was trying to regain its hegemony. As such, the brand launched several vehicles in the “DB” line – initials for David Brown, the British multimillionaire responsible for the recovery of Aston Martin – among which the Aston Martin DB3S, produced in 1954.

Originally, the DB3S was built with a fiberglass body, but was soon replaced by an aluminum body by Aston Martin Works. The British model participated in some of the most important competitions in the world – 1,000 km of Nürburgring, Spa Grand Prix, Mille Miglia, among others – and was piloted by some of the best drivers ever, such as Peter Collins, Roy Salvadori or Sir Stirling Moss.

In addition to the vast curriculum in competition tests, the Aston Martin DB3S also had a career in cinema, participating in several films at the time. Now, the sports history will be auctioned by Bonhams at an event in Newport Pagnell (UK) on May 21st, for an estimated price of between 7.5 and 8.8 million euros. Who gives more?
