the new and unheard of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé (F44) is the latest addition to the Bavarian brand's growing Gran Coupé model family. The best known and most popular is the 4 Series Gran Coupé, but the first to emerge was the 6 Series Gran Coupé, followed by the new 8 Series Gran Coupé.
In total, BMW has sold more than 400,000 Gran Coupé, and we believe that number will grow substantially and rapidly with the arrival of the 2 Series Gran Coupé, its most affordable member. And a note to the name “Coupé”: yes, we know that they are not true coupés, they all have four doors (technically there are five, in the case of the Series 4).

Portugal will have another engine
As you could read in the link above, there will be three engines available at the launch of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, two petrol: 218i (1.5, 3 cyl., turbo, 140 hp) and M235i xDrive (2.0, 4 cyl., turbo, 306 hp); and one diesel: 220d (2.0, 4 cyl., turbo, 190 hp).

For Portugal, a fourth engine will be added: o 216d , the Access Diesel engine, shared with the 116d, which means it is the 1.5 engine, with three cylinders and 116 hp.
BMW M235i xDrive
Portugal wins an engine but loses a transmission, with all 2 Series Gran Coupés using only (and at the moment) automatic transmissions, with no manual transmission being available. These are dual-clutch, seven-speed on the 218i and 216d; and eight-speed torque converter on the 220d and M235i xDrive.
Prices
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will arrive in Portugal in March, with the 216d arriving roughly a month later. Prices start at 36 500 euros for the 218i and culminate in the €61 000 for the M235i xDrive.
