Do you remember this exotic sports car presented in 2013 at the Dubai Motor Show? The same one that promised an exorbitant power and that aroused many doubts in the automobile world? According to the Arab brand, the Devel Sixteen is an innovative proposal that promises to shame models like the Bugatti Veyron.
The specs are truly mind-boggling: 12.3-liter quad-turbo V16 engine that delivers acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds and a top speed of 563 km/h (let's go to believe…).
According to Steve Morris Engines (SME), responsible for the V16 block of the Devel Sixteen, the engine is capable of reaching 5000 hp of power. It's hard to believe, isn't it? For this reason, the Arab brand wanted to prove that this engine is not for playing around and placed it on a test bench. The result? The engine was capable of delivering 4515 hp at 6900 rpm.
However, SME guarantees that the engine could reach 5000 hp if the “dyno” could support all that power. Even so, the performance of the V16 engine is still quite impressive, despite its implementation in a production car being still too “green” a project.
